PINK SHOES INTO THE VATICAN

An art installation will be installed in Auckland and Wellington to promote gender equity at all levels  in the Roman Catholic Church.

There will be a path of worn shoes and stories of women's work in the RC  Church. In Auckland , this will extend from the women's suffrage memorial in central Auckland to St Patrick's Cathedral.

In Wellington, the shoe path will start at Parliament steps to the closed (for earthquake strengthening) Cathedral.

People are welcome to walk the path and read the stories and join us on the day!

Would a saint ignore sexual abuse?

Pope John Paul 2 is due for canonization within the next 12 months. However, it was apparent from at least 1988 that sexual abuse behaviour was repetitive. Thus, priests would be unlikely to stop this behaviour if transferred to a new post and still in contact with minors. It is my understanding that Church Authorities took no steps between 1988 and 2001 ( years within the Papacy of John Paul 2) to stop the occurrence of this horrendous crime. Is this compatible with Sainthood?
